There are trains connecting to Mangalore from places like Mumbai, Gujarath, Goa, Kerala, Chennai, Delhi, Calcutta, Kashmir, Orissa and many other places. “Mathsyagandha express” between Mumbai and Mangalore takes a journey of 15hrs.
By Air:
There are 4 flights between Mumbai and Mangalore which takes about 1hour flying and 2 flights between Bangalore and Mangalore. There are daily flights from Dubai and other Gulf countries to Mangalore.

Pilikula Nisargadhama
Pilikula is the popular name now for the pilgrims. It is about 10kms. from the Mangalore city. The Pilikula golf course is now fully operational and ready for use by golfers. Boating is also provided for the pilgrims. For the present only nine fairways and nine browns, with a total yardage of about 2800 yards, have been laid traversing the hills and the dales. |
Kadri Manjunatha Temple
The temple of Manjunatheshwara on the hills of Kadri is a very beautiful and popular temple in Mangalore. It is said to be built during the 10th or 11th century. It was converted to a complete stone structure during the 14th century. The idol of Lord Manjunathaswamy of the temple is called as oldest of the South Indian Temples. |
Sharavu Sri Mahaganapathi Temple
Sri Mahaganapathy Kshetra is an outstanding, religious temple of around 800 years. Since the temple is located in the heart of the city, locating and reaching the temple is very easy. It is at a walking distance from Hampankatta and also can comfortably reached by auto- rickshaws. |
Mangaladevi Temple

1000 Pillar Temple
The Tribhuvana Tilaka Chudamani basadi, as this Jain shrine is formally known, is the largest of its kind in coastal Karnataka and is considered to be the most ornate of the Jain temples of this region. It was built in successive stages between 1430 and 1516. The stone carvings of this temple are of high quality and never fail to impress the visitor. The 9 feet high bronze statue of Chandranath in Kayotsarg posture is very attractive. It bears the inscription dated March 27, 1430 . It is in this basadi that the rare Jain palm leaf manuscripts of 12th century A.D. known as 'Dhavala texts' were discovered. |
