Omega Dialysis Unit
The Dialysis Unit has been established for over 13 years and has a reputation for the quality of care provided. In addition to providing facilities for patients with chronic conditions requiring emergency treatment, the unit runs an out-of-hours emergency on-call service to cover any need for acute dialysis in the Intensive Care Unit. Isolation room facilities are provided for patients who are Hepatitis B, C or MRSA positive. Patients receive a high standard of care and treatment in comfortable surroundings, led by an experienced unit doctor and a team of specialist nurses.
Achievement: During the last 10 years the Nephrology department has performed above 20,000 hemodialysis procedures, 250 intermittent peritoneal dialysis, 23 CAPD procedures and 450 kidney biopsies.
